At some point, I think every woman online has heard the same thing:
“Girl, just sell feet pics. Easy money.”
And listen… I’m not even gonna lie, I got hella curious too. Between TikTok videos of women claiming they’re making thousands a month and random people online acting like posting a picture of your toes is basically passive income, I figured, okay fine… let’s see what this is actually about.
Spoiler alert?
The internet is selling a fantasy.
Can people make money selling feet pics? Yeah, absolutely. Some people do really well. But what almost nobody tells you is that the market is ridiculously oversaturated now. EVERYONE had the same idea after social media started glamorizing it as the ultimate “work from home” side hustle.
So I did the research, tried it myself, browsed the sites, dealt with the messages, and honestly? Unless you’re willing to put in a lot more work than people admit, it’s probably not worth the hype.
The top three platforms everyone talks about are FeetFinder, FunWithFeet, and OnlyFans. FeetFinder and FunWithFeet are specifically built for foot content, while OnlyFans is more creator-focused overall.
And here’s where reality comes crashing in…
I made exactly ZERO dollars.
Not a penny. Not even enough to buy myself a drive-thru iced tea.
Honestly, my husband probably would’ve had an easier time making money than I did, which is both hilarious and slightly offensive to my ego as a woman in midlife trying to survive this economy. 😭
Meanwhile, most of the buyers I ran into clearly wanted more than “just feet,” and that’s where the line was drawn in the sand for me
That’s the part social media conveniently skips over.
From what I saw, the people actually making decent money were usually showing a lot more than feet. Faces, lingerie, suggestive content, nudity, personalized videos, flirting, full-on adult creator branding… that’s where the real money seemed to be going.
And if that’s your thing? No judgment whatsoever. Get your bag. 😉
But if you’re a regular midlife woman thinking you’re gonna anonymously post a few cute pedicure pictures and suddenly start funding your Target addiction or paying your electric bill… Whew! The chances of that happening are a LOT lower than social media makes it sound.
Honestly, my biggest takeaway from the entire experience was this: selling feet pics is less “easy money” and more “running a niche online content business.” It takes major marketing, constant self promotion, patience, thick skin, consistency, and being comfortable with a level of attention and off the wall requests from strangers that a lot of people are not prepared for. At least I wasn’t.
For me personally? The possibility of making money definitely wasn’t worth dealing with the weirdness, uncomfortable messages, or the overall vibe of the entire experience.
I’m not gonna lie though, taking the pictures themselves was actually kinda fun and hilarious, and honestly? Some of those shots were cute as hell… but the experience as a whole just was not what the internet cracks it up to be.
And seriously, major kudos to the people out there genuinely putting in the time, energy, marketing, creativity, and nonstop effort to make money doing it because whew… it is definitely NOT as easy as the internet makes it sound. If you’re actually successful at it, you’re basically running a full time content business at that point.
So, if you’ve been curious because the internet keeps making it sound like the easiest side hustle alive, hopefully this gives you the version people don’t usually get real about, especially for those of us navigating midlife, hormones, bills, stress, and trying to figure out what’s actually worth our time anymore.
Okay but now I genuinely wanna know… what’s the weirdest side hustle y’all have ever tried because social media swore it was “easy money”? 😂 Because at this point I’m convinced half the internet leaves out about 90% of the reality.
