Tides of Fortune by Lauryn Hamilton Murray was one of my most anticipated reads this year after how much I loved the first book. While this one didn’t quite hit the same level for me, I still genuinely enjoyed it and flew through it.
The stakes are higher and the world continues to expand, which I appreciated, though it did slow the pacing a bit compared to book one.
Blaze remains a strong and compelling FMC, and I loved seeing her growth as she navigates everything being thrown at her. The character dynamics and emotional tension kept me invested, even in the slower moments, and the writing is still immersive and engaging.
Even though it didn’t give me quite the same addictive feel as the first book, it’s still one of my favorite reads of the year. I’m fully invested in this series and already looking forward to the next book.
