Claimed by Her Monsters is exactly what the title promises, a fast and spicy Halloween monster romance full of eerie tension and chaotic fun. It’s got that perfect October vibe, the kind of story you grab when you want something dark, steamy, and a little mischievous without needing to overthink it.

The story follows Madison, a nineteen-year-old who ends up living with a distant relative after her life takes a hard turn. What she finds in her new home is anything but ordinary. Secrets, storms, and supernatural roommates quickly take center stage, pulling her into a whirlwind of temptation and danger. The haunted house atmosphere gives it that classic Halloween energy with a paranormal twist.

Lexi Davis does a great job setting the mood. The writing creates a vivid sense of place, from the stormy nights to the creaking halls and the strange heat between characters. The pacing keeps things moving, and even when the story dips into pure chaos, it’s hard not to have fun with it. It’s definitely the kind of book that feels like a guilty pleasure read, meant to entertain more than to make you think.

Where it lost me was in the depth. I wanted more from both the characters and the world they live in. The connections form fast, the emotions jump quickly, and the lore surrounding the monsters feels underdeveloped. I could sense the potential for a much bigger story, but it stayed mostly on the surface. Madison herself came across as a bit young and impulsive at times, which made it harder to fully connect with her.

Still, I get why so many readers are loving it. It’s moody, spicy, and unapologetically built for Halloween. If you’re looking for a quick paranormal escape that leans into the fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously, this one fits the bill. It’s short, entertaining, and easy to fly through in a single evening.

Overall, Claimed by Her Monsters is a solid seasonal read that delivers on atmosphere and spice but leaves you wanting a little more substance. Three stars from me for being a fun, fast, and festive monster romance that knows exactly what it wants to be.
